Knoxville Hospital Doula offers Babycare TENS® ELLE TENS 1 units for rent and purchase, to use as a non-medical comfort measure during labor and gynecologic procedures in Knoxville, TN and surrounding areas!
A TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) unit is a small, battery-operated device that uses low-level electrical currents to provide temporary pain relief. It works by sending pulses through electrode pads placed on the skin near the painful area, which can stimulate nerves to disrupt pain signals from reaching the brain. TENS units are reported to be an effective, non-medical, drug-free tool for pain management during childbirth, IUD insertion, colposcopy, LEEP and other gynecologic procedures. Please consult with your clinical provider prior to use.
